What goes on your house.

Mechanical-lock standing seam
Highest-performance profile. Field-seamed with a power tool. Best choice for low slopes (3/12+) and high-wind exposure.

Snap-lock standing seam
Engineered clip system, snap-engaged seam. Faster install, slightly lower wind rating. Right call for most steep residential.

Standing-seam over asphalt (recover)
On qualifying decks, we install a metal roof over a sound single-layer asphalt without tear-off. Saves on tear-off + disposal. Not always possible.
About standing-seam metal roofing
What finishes are available?
Antique Bronze, Non-Painted, Black, and Rustic Red — the four standing-seam finishes we install. Antique Bronze is what we put on most around here. See each finish photographed on real Tri-Cities homes on our metal roof colors page. When we come out, Christian brings physical samples to hold against your siding.
How much more does metal cost than asphalt?
Metal costs more upfront than comparable architectural asphalt — exactly how much depends on the home. Tends to last longer than asphalt, so the per-year cost is often lower over the long run. We provide a free on-site inspection and a written estimate — call (423) 549-2065 for your specific roof.
Is metal louder when it rains?
Not on a modern install. The Galvalume sits over a synthetic underlayment and (on most installs) the existing decking. Sound transmission to the conditioned space is comparable to asphalt. The "loud metal roof" trope is from agricultural barns with no decking.
Will my insurance discount premiums for metal?
Most Tennessee homeowner's insurance carriers discount premiums for impact-resistant roofing, and standing-seam metal typically qualifies for the highest tier. Check with your carrier directly for your specific discount — we can provide the install documentation they need.
Where do you install metal roofs?
We install standing-seam metal across the Tri-Cities, TN — Jonesborough, Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol, Greeneville, Elizabethton, and the surrounding Washington, Sullivan, Greene, Carter, Hawkins, and Unicoi county communities.
Does metal work on a low pitch?
Standing-seam mechanical-lock metal can be installed down to a 3/12 pitch — lower than any asphalt shingle is rated for. Below 3/12 you’re looking at a different system (TPO, EPDM).
What about hail?
Standing-seam metal is rated UL 2218 Class 4 (the highest impact rating). It cosmetically dents on golf-ball-size hail but rarely fails functionally. Most carriers cover dent repair under hail claims.
